Return Of Black Doom- Chapter 06

Several hours later, inside one of the many rooms of G.U.N. headquarters, Team Dark and Sky had informed the Commander Abraham Tower about the Black Arms' return, and that of their leader Black Doom.

The Commander sighed and said to the team;


"I always knew something like this would happen sooner or later. But I never imagined it would have involved the Black Arms returning from the dead!..."


He paused when he soon noticed that Sky was amongst Team Dark, he turned to face her and asked her;


"So, what is your involvement with all of this, echidna? The last I heard, you were one of Dr Eggman's most powerful assassins!"

"With all due respect, Sir, your data-banks are in dire need of updating. The doctor no longer has any control over me. I am independent, and free to do whatever I choose!"


Her blunt answer made the Commander glare at her coldly. Yet, she added;


"As for my involvement, myself and Sonic saw the aliens crash, and we were attacked by them. Sonic was taken in the process..."


She fell silent for a few seconds, but continued;


"... Which is why I am here to offer my services to find him and help rid the world of the Black Arms once and for all!"


Commander Tower then turned his gaze from Sky to Shadow;


"Do you have any objections with her assisting you on this mission?" he asked the black/red hedgehog, to which he replied;

"We've already had a discussion about this..." he turned to look at Sky, who was still a little annoyed at what he had previously said in the forest, and added;

"... And I can't see any real reason why she shouldn't help us out..."


Sky watched as Shadow and the Commander carried on talking, along with Rouge and Omega. She was starting to feel more enraged at Shadow's attitude towards her;


"Look at him... He has some nerve! He is talking about me like I am a liability or a weakling!"

"Don't take it to heart, honey. He doesn't mean anything by it, he's just being his usual self;
He's usually either really moody or at times obnoxious!" Rouge assured the magenta echidna, but she was not convinced.


"You're probably right, Rouge. It's just that..."


Sky stopped when Shadow rudely interrupted her;


"Sky, I want a word with you... NOW!"

"Well, since you asked me so nicely!" Sky said sarcastically as she reluctantly followed Shadow out of the room.


Once outside, Sky was the first to speak;


"Alright, what is it that was so important for you to..."


She started, but Shadow once again interrupted her mid-sentence, this time he seemed mad at her, and shouted;


"When were you going to tell me!?"

"Tell you what? I have no idea what you're talking about! ..."

"Don't give me that, Sky! How long have you known that Dr Eggman had created you using Black Doom's blood, and the same data that Professor Gerald had used to create me? How long have you known that you're part Black Arms, like myself?!"


His reaction made Sky's eyes widen. Seeing how furious he was about the whole situation, she felt uneasy, and also slightly guilty.
She lowered her head, her eyes stared at the ground, unable to look directly at him.

Her sudden silence told Shadow everything he needed to know. He could clearly see the expressions on her face;

It was a mixture of sadness, guilt, and some kind of remorse for not telling him the truth sooner.


Shadow walked closer to her, he moved his hand towards her face, and gently lifted her chin up so she could see him more clearly.
His expression and demeanor changed and he said to her in a more calmer tone of voice;


"Sky, why didn't you tell me? You should not have kept that from me..."

"It wasn't your problem to discuss, Shadow. Besides, I had not known for long.
It was Doom's Eye who told me, he was trying to persuade me to join them, but I refused.
That was why he attacked me..." she replied, never taking her gaze off his scarlet red eyes.

"You should have told me sooner. It's not the kind of thing you should keep secret!" Shadow told her, but she told him straight;

"I don't have to tell you anything... You are NOT my boyfriend!"

"I know that, but I AM a friend... A friend who is concerned about your safety, and someone you can talk to anytime if you have a problem..."

"Shadow..."


Sky paused when she could see Rouge and Omega make their way out of the room.


"Shadow, Sky, we are ready to carry out the mission. Our transport is waiting for us to take us to the space colony ARK." Omega informed the two of them.

"Right, thank you, Omega..." Sky replied. She then turned to face Shadow, and added;

"We should get going..." Sky said.


The black/red hedgehog nodded in agreement, and so the team of four made their to the space shuttle, to take them to the ARK....
